Matt Poulin

Coach

My name is Coach Matt Poulin and I currently live in Yukon, OK. I have been coaching CrossFit for 7 years and 1-1 athletes for 2 years. I have coached athletes of all fitness levels, ranging from newly acquainted gym members to top ranked individuals in the world. I have a Bachelors degree in Mathematics and a Masters in Business. During my time in college I was fortunate enough to play college baseball at various levels, including the Pac-12. I was a catcher my entire baseball career which is where I believe my ability to lead, guide, and instruct started from. After college came to an end, I immediately began competing in the sport of CrossFit. My professional career spanned a total of 5 years and I was fortunate enough to do some cool things during my time competing. I have been retired from the sport since 2023 and now I spend my time enjoying everyday fitness, practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu & MMA, farming chickens, and tackling all types of home improvement projects.

My favorite thing about coaching is being in a position to help individuals improve their capabilities. Not just their physical ability, but in all aspects of their lives. I genuinely want each person to be the best version of themselves and I want to help shift their mindset to believe that they are capable of doing more.

My favorite thing to coach is pacing and strategy within workouts. I love breaking down a workout and sharing what I think is the best way to go about it, depending on the athlete's abilities.

Here are a few highlights from my time competing in the functional fitness space:
