Sarah Bowser

Coach

Sarah’s journey into CrossFit began a decade ago with a simple decision to join a new gym with a friend. Initially, there was no grand plan or deep-seated passion—just a search for something new after completing a long running program. However, what started as a casual exploration turned into a decade-long commitment that transformed her life.

In coaching, Sarah finds the most joy in witnessing the “firsts” of her members—those moments when a tweak or piece of advice helps someone achieve something they’ve never done before. This aspect of coaching is deeply fulfilling for her. Sarah’s approach centers on discovering each member’s personal "why" and helping them work towards it, whether their goals are fitness-related or otherwise.

Feats of Strength:

Ran the Konigsschlosser Marathon in Germany (never running a marathon ever again)

Favorite Workout: Anything with a hang power clean

C&J: 180lbs

Voted Master of Motivation by her peers in 2024.

Turning Point:

A significant turning point in Sarah's life came through her ongoing struggle with body image. Throughout her life, she has faced various challenges with how she perceives her body—whether feeling too skinny, too fat, or simply not meeting her own standards. This internal battle with self-image was a persistent and often painful aspect of her life.

However, CrossFit became a crucial factor in shifting her perspective. In the CrossFit community, the focus is not on body size or shape but on what the body can achieve. This change in focus was transformative for Sarah. It allowed her to shift her perspective from what her body looked like to instead appreciate her body for its strength and capabilities.

The process has been healing. Sarah has become comfortable with herself in ways she hadn’t been before. She’s learned to embrace her body’s functionality and power rather than being deterred by perceived imperfections. The confidence gained from this shift in focus has been profound, allowing her to overcome fears and insecurities she had struggled with for years. Now, she values what her body can do and celebrates those accomplishments, finding pride in her physical abilities rather than dwelling on appearance.

This journey has made Sarah more resilient and accepting of herself, and she brings this perspective into her coaching. She encourages others to focus on their strengths and achievements, helping them recognize that their worth is defined by what they can do, not by how they look.

Passion & Motivation:

Sarah’s purpose in coaching is to create a fun and engaging environment where people can work hard and leave with a smile. She is driven to serve individuals at all fitness levels, helping them find joy in their workouts while achieving their personal goals. By fostering a positive atmosphere, Sarah ensures that every session is not just about physical effort but also about having a good time and feeling accomplished. Her goal is to make fitness enjoyable and rewarding for everyone who walks through the door.
